November 14, 2017 - Bryan Voigt & Jeff Walter, coadvised by Prof. Chris Leighton were selected as one of the finalist teams for the Dow Sustainability Innovation Award. Their project is titled "Pyrite FeS2: A Low-Cost Earth-Abundant Solar Solution for Sustainable Power" They were recognized for “Breakthroughs in the development of iron sulfide, or Fool’s Gold, as a low-cost, earth-abundant, non-toxic photovoltaic create new pathways to solar cells and sustainable energy.“ http://environment.umn.edu/leadership
